    According to the connotation of CAR2100, High intensity Discharge is a kind of high pressure gas discharge without light filament as halogen and filled with inert gases including xenon. The abbreviation is HID Xenon Kit. It can be also called heavy metal light or xenon light. The principle is arcing and glow between two poles through starter and electronic ballast.

    HID is usually formed by head, electronic ballast and wire.
 
    1 Head
    You will find the Xenon Kit has no lamp filament without the burning of the wolfram filament.

    2 Electronic Ballast
    Battery 12V DC is used for series of transform, control, protect, boost and frequency conversion to produce a sudden 23000V enlighten high pressure for the head. 35V AC pressure is kept after the enlightenment. 

    3 Line Set
    The set is usually made by inflaming resisting material. Due to the increase of the sectional area for the electrical wire, the HID safe work is assured.

    Advantages of HID:
    Super high white arc light by xenon can increase the light temperature of the light to the daylight. The working current of the HID is only 3.5A and the luminance is three times of traditional halogen light. The work life of it is ten times longer than the traditional halogen light.

    Sorts according to head:
    H Series:H1, H3, H4, H6, H7, H8, H9, H10, H11, H13

    90 Series:9004(HB1), 9005(HB3), 9006(HB4), 9007(HB5)

    D Series:D1S, D1C, D1R, D2R, D1C, D2C, D3C, D4C

    880 and 551 are common in HID H1, H4, H7, 9005, 9006, 9007 and so on.

    H4, H13, 9004 and 9007 has two wolfram filaments in the former halogen light. One is near light. The other is far light. Because the xenon lamp can not have near and far light, then there are four kinds. In hot temperature it is easy to be burnt and the work life is only 250 hours.

    H4-3, H13-3, 9004-3, 9007-3, H4-H or L, H13-H or L, 9004-H or L, 9007-H or L are far and near assembly lights. H or L stands for high or low.
