Mazda will Share the New Model Specifications
The new Mazdaspeed3 has been long anticipated by fans, and Mazda has finally released this sports compact, but without the Mazdaspeed badge.
In the past few days, messages posted on YouTube by Mazda Mexico have gone viral.
Road&Track first discovered the video and speculated that the Mazda3 Turbo had the same 2.5-liter turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine as the CX-5 SUV and the Mazda5.
The Mazda3 Turbo, which is equipped with a four-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission, delivers 227 horsepower and 310 LB-FT of torque, but gives no indication of whether a manual transmission is available, according to the report.
The smaller horsepower and torque cost the Mazda3 Turbo the loss of the Mazdaspeed3 badge, contrary to fan expectations.
In recent years, Mazda cars with the Mazdaspeed3 logo have rarely entered the U.S. market. Last time around, the model had a 2.3-liter turbocharged front-wheel drive, which delivered 263 horsepower but only 280 LB-FT’s low torque.
Mazda could change the 2021 Mazda3 Turbo for the U.S. and Canadian markets slightly to get better power, fuel quality data, and emissions, but Mazda hasn’t made any changes.
When asked for more information on the Mazda3 Turbo during the launch of the model, a Mazda brand spokesman said the U.S. market will receive the 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo.
An official announcement on specific information about the US market will be made on July 8
